Half-day tour
Garni & Geghard
The classic half day out of Yerevan. We begin at Garni — the only standing Greco-Roman temple in the Caucasus, perched over the Azat gorge — then follow the river up to Geghard, a UNESCO monastery carved directly into the mountain. On the way back, a village family bakes lavash in a tonir for you, still warm when you eat it with cheese and greens.
Along the way
- Garni Temple over the Azat gorge
- UNESCO-listed Geghard Monastery
- Symphony of Stones basalt columns
- Lavash baking in a village home
